Ball State does not offer a degree program specifically in video game design or development (two very different things). Very few accredited four year universities do offer bachelor's degrees that are specific to gaming. The well known exceptions are DigiPen in Washington (they graduate less than 50 students per year) and the very new Interactive Arts and Media program at Columbia College in Chicago
However, if one examines such degree programs they differ very little from a standard CS program. They still require the standard courses in programming and caclulus. Typically, they only have a small number of gaming-specific courses. We do offer an elective course in 3D computer graphics and an elective course in graphical user interfaces. We do have a video game developer's club, and there is a room in the student center dedicated to video gaming on PCs.
We have had a small number of our majors graduate and go on to be employed by companies that develop video games. In general, such jobs are not particularly well paying, nor do such companies have a reputation for treating their employees well.
