Double Major in Social Psychology and Community Counseling
The double major in social psychology and counseling allows you to earn a master's degree in social psychology and counseling at the same time. For the counseling part of the double major, you may choose the community counseling track or the mental health counseling track. The double major is particularly useful to students who wish to combine social psychology and counseling in practice or research.

The double major provides an integration of the group and societal orientation of social psychology with the applied individual focus of counseling. In addition to the topics covered in the general social psychology program, you will consider applications of social psychology to counseling.

Please see the Masters Programs and Options (PDF) for the courses and credit hours required for each double major program option. Depending on the number of credit hours completed, you may be eligible for licensing as a mental health counselor in the state of Indiana.
