"As one of only a handful of people who have received four degrees from this university, I have strong affection for Ball State generally but especially for this department. The training I received here prepared me for my career better than I could have imagined. Not only did I learn the skills necessary to become a practicing psychologist, I learned how to think critically and professionally about health care in general. My career path took me in directions I never predicted – psychologist, consultant, CEO, and writer - and it was the education I received at Ball State that made it possible. I have watched this department grow and evolve over the past 30+ years, always staying current in light of new developments in the field without ever losing its commitment to teaching and training excellence. In addition, while in the PhD program, I made friends for life in my fellow students and the faculty.
