Course Design
We've designed this online course keeping busy professionals with unique learning needs in mind. Therefore, the course can be self-paced while at the same time offering opportunities for collaboration to those who learn best within a group.
Content is broken down into six modules-corresponding to the six SHRM Learning System books -- and each of those large topics is split into several smaller sections. Many sections have a corresponding video; some topics are covered adequately in the SHRM Learning Systems books, while others may have been combined with another section. Here is an example of how a module might be set up.

In order to support collaboration among learners, a course calendar has been established that suggests when modules should be completed. Having the entire group proceed on a common schedule will make the discussion activities more relevant and productive. If one prefers or needs to follow a different schedule, s/he may feel free to do so, although the benefits of participating in the discussion groups may be lost.
