Steve Avila, Lynne Richardson, Frank Sabatine and John Steinbach
Dr, Stephen Avila is Associate Professor in the Department of Finance and Insurance, Miller College of Business. His teaching interests include Property and Liability Risk Management and Insurance and Insurance Company Operations. He has been the recipient of several teaching awards during his tenure at Ball State. Steve served as the lead facilitator for the 2006 Insurance Education Institute offered through a partnership between COR and the Center for Actuarial Science, Insurance, and Risk Management. Dr. Avila brings an award winning approach to teaching insurance and risk management.

Mr. John Steinbach is President of JP Consultants, Inc., located in Fort Wayne. He is celebrating his 20th anniversary as a training and organizational development consultant. John has been associated with COR for more than four years, participating as part of our Emerging Leaders Program. John also has taught several customized programs for COR clients, including a mentoring program for London Wittie Group, Appreciative Inquiry for Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center and Presentation Skills for Cardinal Health System, Inc. and Allegient.

Ball State University's Center for Organizational Resources (COR) recently presented its annual Outstanding Internal Trainer Award to Pamela Stant and its Outstanding External Trainer Award to Jason Moore. 

The two awards recognize Ball State faculty or staff members and professional trainers who are committed to student and client satisfaction, excelling in the development and delivery of training, and developing a long-term and loyal partnership with organizations throughout the state of Indiana.

Stant is a Technical Training Analyst in Technology Training Support   Services at Ball State.   Delaina Boyd, Director for COR, cited Stant's long-term dedication to the Center serving as an instructor in its open enrollment, non-credit computer training programs. "Pam is a dedicated and gifted trainer, Boyd said, "who has devoted countless hours to developing incredible training materials and taking the extra steps  in making certain that the students are successful in learning the course content and computer skills."

Moore, a Training Consultant at Ontario Systems in Muncie, was credited with developing and delivering training under COR's Microsoft Office Specialist Certification training initiative.   Moore served as intern with COR while working on his master's degree in 2000, and was instrumental in the Center's computer lab to be granted Authorized Testing Center status through Microsoft.  "Jason has continued his relationship with COR after graduation and always exceeds our expectations with respect to the quality and timeliness of his work," stated Boyd.

The Center for Organizational Resources develops and manages training and consulting projects for businesses and organizations, as well as workforce development programs.  COR is a part of Ball State's School of Extended Education.

The Center for Organizational Resources presented the 2003 Outstanding Faculty Award to Dan Jones and its Outstanding External Trainer Award to Debra Smith.

Dan Jones is an independent trainer as well as serves as a contract faculty member for Ball State University in the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management in the College of Business and the School of Extended Education.  Dan received his master's degree in Organizational Communication from Ball State University in 1992.  He has worked both as a private trainer/consultant and for organizations such as, Vertica Solutions, CompUSA, VisionQuest, ABB Power T & D Company, Delphi, and New Venture Gear.

Debra Smith is a nationally respected consultant, speaker, and seminar leader.  Those who attend her seminars gain new insight and direction, reinforced by effective skills that greatly enhance their performance. She brings more than 15 years of experience in business to her seminars.  Debra holds a B.A. (summa cum laude) in management and an M.B.A. degree in management from Golden Gate University.  A partial client list includes Abbott Laboratories, Bank One, Interep, Lucent Technologies, Medtronic, Pfizer, Texas Instruments, and Departments of the Air Force and Navy.

Ball State's Center for Organizational Resources recently presented its Outstanding Faculty Award to distinguished Ball State marketing professor Ramon Avila and its Outstanding External Trainer Award to Mitch Ripley.

The honors recognize faculty members and trainers who are committed to client satisfaction, excellence in the development and delivery of training, and development of long-term and loyal partnerships with organizations throughout the state of Indiana.

Avila is Ball State's George and Frances C. Ball Distinguished Professor of Marketing, Delaina Boyd, director of COR, cited Avila's energy and enthusiasm in providing training that enhances participants' performance and makes a positive and lasting impact on the organizations he serves.  He specializes in the delivery of sales and customer service training for health care and financial institutions, to name a few.

Ripley, a professional trainer from Greenwood, was credited with establishing long-term relationships with clients and accepting a wide array of training assignments.  "Showing this diverse training background, Mitch taught computer training for displaced workers, delivered supervisory training to health care workers, and conducted management development programs for several Indiana manufacturing companies during the last year," Boyd said.
