Completion of the Mindpro® Training and passing the associated exams results in a Certificate of Proficiency issued by a Six Sigma Black Belt on staff at Ball State University for ALL belts (White, Yellow, Green, and Black). Black Belt Certificates of Proficiency will also be signed by Dr. Mikel Harry, Co-Creator of Six Sigma. The Certificate of Proficiency indicates the student has passed all exams with a passing grade of 70% or more and has displayed a competent understanding of the Six Sigma Body of Knowledge at the level of certification granted.

The Green Belt and Black Belt Certificate of Proficiency will indicate the required completion of a Six Sigma professional level project has not been completed. There are two optons for completing the project and receiving the full Green Belt and Black Belt Certification:

Option 1 is available to students who work for an employer with Six Sigma Black Belts on staff for the base cost of the training:

This option allows the student to complete the project under the guidance of a Six Sigma Black Belt on staff at their company. Upon completion of the project, the company for which the project was completed would issue the Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.

Option 2 is available to students who do not work for an employer with Six Sigma Black Belts on staff or for students who desire certification through an academic institution. An additonal fee of $2,500.00 is required for this option.

With this option, Ball State faculty who hold Six Sigma Black Belt certification will work with the student to select an appropriate project, will guide the student through the project, and will evaluate the project. Upon completion of the project, Ball State will issue the Green Belt and Black Belt Certification jointly with the company for which the project was completed.

Live and Online Credit Options:

Not only can you receive a non-credit Lean Six Sigma Certification, but you can also choose to take university credit classes leading toward Black Belt Certification. You can choose from live on-campus and online distance classes.

Online with Facilitation

Starting in October and contiuning until March, for an additional fee, you can join in three hours per week via video conference with students from China.  For more information on this option, please contact us at sixsigmacert@bsu.edu.
