SS 395 - Teaching Social Studies in Secondary Schools.

Theory and practice of teaching secondary school social studies. Emphasizes methodology, materials, and specific application in the secondary classroom. Includes introductory involvement in the teaching of social studies with a focus on rationale, planning, teaching, and evaluation. Prerequisite: SS 350; 18 hours of credit in social science content courses; permission of the department chairperson. Parallel: may be taken with or after (but not before) EDJHM 385; EDSEC 380. Open only to social studies teaching majors.
