ENG 647 - African American Literature
Examines African American literature focusing on the role of vernacular speech and music; the social status of African Americans and their relations with other racial groups; the connections between race, class, gender, and sexuality; and relevant literary criticism and theory. Prerequisite: permission of the department chairperson. A total of 6 hours of credit may be earned, but no more than 3 in any one semester or term.
