What are the cons of content management?
  • Advanced developers will experience difficulty unlearning conventional HTML tools
  • Changes to the templates are implemented if they benefit all users - individual requests may not be immediately honored
  • Development of unique features and modules occur if there is a benefit for all developers and end-users of the university's web site
  • Developers must use Internet Explorer 5.0 or above
    • Certain features are not compatible with Netscape and Safari browsers
  • Navigation and content components cannot be altered
  • No fail-over system to handle down time
  • Limited support resources to assist and train new users and fill image requests
  • Limited technical resources to introduce and maintain new features
