The Digital Exchange initiative is creating new immersive learning environments and innovative research through four institutes that explore how digital media technology and devices will affect the way society gets information, functions in work environments, and seeks entertainment. These institutes include:

Institute for Digital Entertainment and Education (IDEE)
IDEE is creating a destination point for digital media learning as well as the creation of new content and distribution products for traditional and non-traditional media platforms.

Institute for Digital Fabrication (IDF)
IDF links computation with design allowing greater customization, increased efficiency and greater output potential in digital manufacturing processes.

Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts and Animation (IDIAA)
IDIAA is creating an interdisciplinary, collaborative and immersive, project-based environment that explores the evolving intersection of art and technology.

News Research Institute (NRI)
NRI will provide an atmosphere in which interdisciplinary groups of students, faculty and professionals can identify, explore and seek practical solutions to issues important to the future of the news industry and its consumers.
