Institute for Digital Fabrication:  Exhibition at IMA

The Indianapolis Museum of Art is hosting Manufacturing Material Effects: Rethinking Design and Making in Architecture.  The exhibit which opened March 28th features work from leading thinkers, designers and manufacturers from around the world who participated in the 2007 IMA symposium of the same name organized by Kevin R. Klinger and Branko Kolarevic. Exhibition displays were designed, digitally fabricated, and assembled by a team of Ball State graduate and undergraduate architecture students working with key regional industry partners.

The exhibition will be on view through June 8, 2008. A formal closing event has been scheduled for May 30, at 6pm at the IMA.  Formal remarks by Ball State President, Jo Ann Gora will begin at 6:30.

IDIAA Music Video Receives International Exposure

The music video created for the recording artist, Ki: Theory, by students participating in IDIAA's Immersion Seminar has been accepted to the International Film Festival in Bochum, Germany. The video for the song "Holiday Heart" will be a part of this international festival taking place May 29-31. For more information visit the festival's website.

Institute for Digital Entertainment and Education

The College of Fine Arts and the Institute for Digital Entertainment and Education are teaming up with Clothespin Productions to create a professionally produced commercial film, My Name is Jerry, featuring professional talent and technicians from the Los Angeles area and staring BSU alumni Doug Jones (Pan's Labyrinth, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Hellboy II: The Golden Army).  The film is currently in pre-production and will begin shooting in July.  Visit the IDEE website to view a full interview with Doug Jones.

Insight and Research Observations

Observational Research for the acceleration component of the CRE's Video Consumer Mapping Study have begun in Indianapolis, as observations in our other 5 cities nationwide begin to wind down for this phase of the project. Observations will ramp up again in August for another round of research.

Bill Moult and Jim Spaeth of Sequent Partners, Insight and Research's consulting partners in the CRE's Video Consumer Mapping Study, will be on campus Wednesday, May 21st and Thursday, May 22nd to discuss the project.
