David Howell grew up in the Pacific Northwest and began writing poetry in the 1980s. He received an MFA from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and a PhD from Washington State University. He currently teaches writing at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. His work has appeared in a wide variety of publications including Seven Hundred Kisses, Pillow: Exploring the Heart of Eros, and his chapbook, In Sixteen Hands of Shadow, Red Roan Press, 2004. He lives in Whitefish Bay WI, with his wife Susan and their children Kaitlyn and Evan.
