The National Register of Historic Places is the federal government's official list of districts, sites, buildings and objects worthy of preservation. Listing a property on the National Register does not impose any restrictions and may help to secure funding for a future restoration or rehabilitation project. The Center has completed several National Register nominations for historic districts, but can complete them for individual buildings as well.
The Center is currently completing five National Register nominations, which are listed below.
- Three historic stone arch bridges:
- Bridge #124 on County Road 100S in Decatur County, IN
- Bridge #73, or the "Straber Ford" Bridge, on County Road 500N in Ripley County, IN
- Bridge #149, or the "Middletown" Bridge, on County Road 500S in Shelby County, IN
- The Minnetrista Boulevard Historic District in Muncie, IN
- The East Wabash Historic District in Wabash, IN
