Additional Information
The Moscow Festival Ballet was founded in 1989 when Sergei Radchenko, legendary principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, sought to realize his vision of a company that would bring together the highest classical elements of the great
Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies in an independent new company within the framework of Russian classic ballet. Under Radchenko’s direction, leading dancers from across the Russias have forged an exciting new company staging
new productions of timeless classics. Swan Lake premiered in 1877 and was the last of the Tschaikovsky-Petipa-Ivanov ballets. Swan Lake, a full-length ballet performed in four acts, tells the tale of the Swan Queen and Prince Siegfried and
is considered by many to be one of the greatest classical ballets of all time.
