Can I get stamps at the Post Office in
the Student Center? Yes, you can purchase
stamps, money orders, and a number of other services. However, purchasing
a money order does require cash.
What is 1st Class Mail and does it have
restrictions? First class mail is used
for letters, cards, postal cards, greeting cards, personal notes, bills,
checks, and money orders. Below are restrictions on service for 1st
class mail and post cards, otherwise it will be mailed at letter rate
postage.
What is Package Service?
Package Service includes parcel post, bound printed matter,
media mail (formerly special standard mail) and library mail.
How is International Mail handled?
The Post Office will mail letters, packages, and
books. You may mail by air or by sea. There are some restrictions for
mailing over sea packages. Air mail takes about 7- 10 days to deliver
and Sea mail takes about 6 weeks or around 42 days.
What is a Certificate of
Mailing? A certificate of mailing provides
you (the customer) with a receipt showing evidence of mailing your package
only. Students need certificates of mailing for Federal Student Aid Forms.
In order to confirm delivery you need signature confirmation.
What is Signature Confirmation?
Signature Conformation provides confirmation of delivery/attempted
delivery date upon inquiry, a copy of the recipient's signature can be
shipped back to you via fax or mail upon request. This service i sonly
available with Priority Mail or Package Mail.
Where can I get a change
of address card? Change of address
cards are available at the window here in the Student Center. This form
is designed to forward your mail for six months.
What are Hold Mail Cards?
Hold mail cards are also available at the window in the Student Center,
but this form is designed to hold ones mail at the main post office in
Muncie. This service is limited to a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of
30 days. Pick-up service is not available. |
