Larry joined Lilly in 1969, after
graduating from Purdue University with an Engineering
degree. He is also a Professional Engineer for the
State of Indiana and has an MBA degree from Butler
University. Since joining Lilly, he has held a variety
of engineering and administrative positions, inlcuding
Plant Engineering, Corporate Engineering, Project
Development, Facilities Validation, Purchasing, Plant
Start-up role, and facility expansion of our plant
at Madrid, Spain.
In 1996, Larry accepted the position
of General Manager for the China Manufacturing plant
located in Suzhou. For the next 4 years Larry managed
the start-up of plant included plan of tasks to be
done, generation of hiring plan, identification of
skills needed, hiring and training of staff, generation
of Master Validation Plan for site, identification
of all necessary documentation necessary to qualify
the Plant to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards,
write Standard Operating Procedure's, training programs
for staff, development of Preventative Maintenance
plan for facility, documentation of tasks, vendor
training of staff, execution of Installation Qualification/Operations
Qualifications documentation and the manufacturing
operations. In 1998 we were the Thirteenth pharmaceutical
plant in China to receive GMP certification. Today,
Lilly China is one of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies
in China.
In 2000, Larry returned to the position
of Manager of Equipment Development Group (part of
the Global Manufacturing Services Group) designing,
building and supporting unique and reliable equipment
solutions for Lilly.
