:: Mr. Timothy T. Casady
Timothy T. Casady was named Executive
Director for Corporate Affairs for Lilly's Intercontinental
Region and for Japan in March 2003. In this new position,
he brings a unique combination of legal, business,
and industry affairs experience to the pressing policy
issues facing Lilly and the pharmaceutical industry
in the face of globalization and TRIPS. He is also
charged with strengthening Lilly's corporate presence
and image outside of the U.S.
From 2000 to 2003, Casady served as
General Counsel of LillyUSA (Lilly's U.S. sales, marketing
and medical operations) and as a member of the LillyUSA
Operations Committee. In this job, Casady was heavily
involved in the development of Lilly's business-to-government
business team, in the legal and business issues surrounding
the expiry of Lilly's patent for the groundbreaking
antidepressant Prozac, and in industry efforts to
develop ethical standards for promotional practices
and direct-to-consumer advertising.
Casady has served in a variety of
international assignments with Lilly. He served as
Managing Director of Lilly Austria from 1997-2000,
leading Lilly's sales, marketing and development operations
in Austria. From 1992-1997, he was General Counsel,
Europe/Middle East/Africa Opercations. In Europe,
Casady was a part of a management team leading Lilly
to a position of top-tier growth in the '90s and led
efforts to form research, commercial, and other alliances
in Germany, the U.K., Greece, Egypt, India, and South
Africa. During his work in Europe, he became a well-known
expert in the field of European competition law.
