Marilyn Ryan, Ed.D., R.N. is a professor of nursing and the Associate Director of the graduate program. Marilyn joined the School of Nursing in 1979 and taught undergraduate courses in leadership/management. She assumed the leadership of the master's program in 1987. Since then she has taught graduate courses in nursing theory, research, administration, and concepts of chronic illness. She has assisted with the development of the distance education master's program and teaches on-line classes.

Marilyn has conducted research on on-line education. Another research area of interest is transcultural nursing. She has pursued cultural diversity issues in education through research and in service. She has consulted on curriculum and administration in several countries. Her research has been supported by numerous grants.

Currently, Marilyn is involved with an interdisciplinary college project for orientation of new faculty on-line.
