Renee Twibell has taught in the graduate and undergraduate programs of the School of Nursing for 25 years. She is a Certified Nurse Educator through the National League for Nursing. She conducts and publishes research on a number of topics, including weaning of mechanically ventilated patients, critical thinking, transcultural nursing, stress and coping, family issues in acute care, and instrument development.
Dr. Twibell serves as the nurse researcher at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She has served on numerous university, hospital and community committees, including University Senate, University Strategic Planning Committee, North Central Accreditation Review Committee, Nursing Excellence Steering Committee, ands Community Center for Vital Aging. She is a past president of the White River Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, an annual presenter at AACN National Teaching Institute, and has served on a national board for AACN. In addition, she is an active member in the Midwest Nursing Research Society and presents annually at the MNRS research conference.
