Profile

 

Dr. Beth Johnson joined the School of Nursing faculty at Ball State in 2008. She holds appointments in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. She is currently teaching adult health courses in the undergraduate program.

Dr. Johnson is a gerontological clinical nurse specialist with clinical experience in inpatient acute care, outpatient ambulatory care geriatric clinics, and long-term care settings. She has also had an independent geriatric consultation practice focusing on caregiving families. She previously taught accelerated BSN and MSN nursing students as well as nursing staff in acute care and long-term care settings.

Dr. Johnson’s research interests include post-stroke depressive symptoms, family caregiving, and the use of simulation in teaching geriatric nursing topics.
