Multimedia / Computer Laboratories
The LRC is the initial point of technology services for the students, faculty, and staff of the nursing programs. Services offered in the LRC include: Multimedia Equipment reservations, Video / DVD checkout, Viewing stations for students and faculty to view videos conveniently in the LRC, Video taping assistance, and Online course material assistance – Faculty can request the help of the LRC for video and image editing for use in online class material.
The onsite LRC provides 50+ networked computers loaded with the latest software and instructional programs. Many computer assisted instruction (CAI) programs are available to be used either as a requirement for class or optional to enhance student learning. Students also have the opportunity to access several NCLEX practice programs to help them prepare to take the computerized State Board licensing exam.
The computers in the LRC all have the ability to access the hospital information system at Cardinal Health System. This connection prepares the student to practice in the increasingly automated health care workplace.
Contained in the LRC labs are virtual simulation equipment. These simulation stations allow students to practice procedures, before performing the procedure on a live patient. These stations successfully assist teaching real world practices to students.
