Announcements/Events:

 

Rachel Nielsen from BMH, a nurse recruiter came to speak about job opportunities at BMH. There are scholarships/grants for students and jobs available. Please email her at

RNielsen@chsmail.org or call HR at 765-747-3007. You can also get to the HR website from www.accessbmh.org

 

We will do the Elder-Beerman fundraiser again. The community day is 2/28, a Saturday. We need people to sell coupon booklets again. See Carol in CN 417D to pick some up. They are 5.00 each. Money will go for trip to Tennessee in April.

 

We will have a blood drive 3/30, a Monday. The Red Cross bus will be parked between AJ and TC from 11a to 4p. Need people to volunteer to work and to donate. Email Carol if available to work at ckeihn@bsu.edu

 

NSNA Convention is 4/16-4/18. It's in Nashville, TN. Please email Carol at ckeihn@bsu.edu if interested. Need to register ASAP. We will drive down. Check out www.nsna.org for more info. Will cost.

 

BSNA will sponsor one student to go to the Indiana Rural Health Policy Forum on 2/20. It's 50.00 a person. This is a NUR 404 clinical opportunity.

 

There will be a nursing fall ball in December, on the 5th. It will be held at the Alumni Center. We need people interested to email Kathy Harrold, the secretary at kharrold@bsu.edu She is getting a committee together to discuss plans, etc.

 

Please check out this site: www.plus-energy.org Christine Kowal has emailed me to get the word out to all nursing students about this organization. She would like to start a branch of this organization here at BSU but wants to know if people are interested. It's about fighting cancer through education.

 

Also, if anyone is interested in recruiting new NSNA members, please check out the website at www.nsna.org It has to be a student who does this.

 

Nursing uniforms are still for sale.  $20 for top and $20 for bottoms.
