Nursing Courses:
The R.N. to B.S. track offers two different options for progression. The 6 semester program follows the following sequence:

First Year
Fall - NUR 302 - Nursing Foundation and Issues (3)
Spring - NUR 322 - Research in Nursing (3)
Summer - NUR 405** - Management and Leadership (3)

Second Year
Fall - NUR 303** - Health Assessment (3)
Spring - NUR 401** - Applied Nursing Concepts (4)
Summer - NUR 404** - Community Health (3)

**Nursing courses with clinical components of 45 hours.

The three semester option requires students to take two nursing courses per semester. If you wish to enroll in this sequence it is highly recommended that you have completed all the nursing prerequisite courses. The sequence is as follows:

Fall - NUR 302 & 303** (6)

Summer - NUR 405* & 404** (6)

University Core Courses:
These courses can be completed before, during, or after the nursing sequence. The University Core courses are available as Independent Learning courses or some credit can be obtained as transfer credit or from national examinations.

National examination credit including CLEP, Dantes and Excelsior College credit may be considered to meet prerequisite and core requirements. If you are interested in the options, please discuss the specifics with the R.N. to B.S. advisor. Quarter hour transfer courses will be given special consideration.

Writing Competency Exam: You will be required to pass a writing competency exam before graduation. It is taken in your junior year (62 hours) after obtaining credit for ENG 103 and ENG 104.
