MANUFACTURING FIELD TRIP PHOTO'S
Kindergarten classes from Pleasant View Elementary School (Yorktown) came to the manufacturing lab for their Winter 2006 production run activity on Monday, February 27th and Tuesday, February 28th. Each student helped produce a TIC-TAC-TOE game. This activity was held in conjunction with their PVE unit on economics and modern production. Naturally, the students got to take home one of the "mass produced" products.
Here is a photograph of the TIC TAC TOE game unit (with different colored marbles kept inside the game). The cover on the right side aligns to cover the holes, or flips open to get to the marbles. The block is four inches square and holds 10 marbles (five each of a light and dark color).

Spring 2005 PVES Production Activity
The PVE students also visited the manufacturing program at Ball State University on February 28th and March 1, 2005. During that trip, the students made a TIGER TOOL BOX, a small tool box that can hold school supplies. From fabrication to assembly operations to packaging, each student helped "manufacture" a product. And they each got to take a product home, of course!
Here's a picture of the product that the students built last year. The SCHOOL / TOOL BOX had two sides, two end pieces, a handle, and four places on the sides to store pencils or pens. We added a few school supplies to each product before shipping them out the door!
NOTE: 2005 was the third year of this activity . . . here are photographs from a previous class trip:
