Marilyn Buck promoted to associate dean of College of Applied Sciences and Technology
Marilyn Buck has been promoted to associate dean of the College of Applied Sciences and Technology, replacing Gwen Robbins, who will retire June 30. "We feel very fortunate to have someone like Marilyn with her vast experience in leadership, scholarship, teaching and service join our team," said Nancy Kingsbury, dean of the College of Applied Sciences and Technology. Kingsbury also praised Robbins ' 34 years at Ball State, including the past five as associate dean.

"Over the years, Gwen has been one of the college's greatest assets. I will miss her terribly both professionally and personally," she said. "We wish her all the best."

Buck came to the university in 1989. For the past two years, she has served as associate chair in the School of Physical Education, Sport, and Exercise Science after serving as assistant to the chair from 1999 to 2003.

She received her doctorate from Brigham Young University, her master's degree from the University of Utah and her bachelor's degree from Iowa State University.

"I am looking forward to this new challenge and working with Dean Kingsbury in continuing the growth of the college," Buck said. "I believe that my experiences over the past 16 years at Ball State, including the past three years as chair of University Senate, will help me in fulfilling my responsibilities as associate dean."
