August 29th 2009, CAST and CCIM teamed up to lend a hand to Habitat for Humanity. The project was to build sheds for collecting aluminum cans. The Habitat Recycled Aluminum Cans Project can potentially raise enough money to build one Habitat home per year. The CAST team was headed up by the CAST Dean, Mitch Whaley as well as Carol Brown, Scott Hall and Jinhee Nam from the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences and Ray Shackelford, Doug Wilson, Jan Johnson and Rick Johnson from the Department of Technology. The CCIM team was headed up by the CCIM Dean, Roger Lavery and Associate Dean, Lori Byers, along with Laura O'Hara and Peggy Fisher from Communication Studies and Suzy Smith, Chris Flook, and Betsy Pike from Telecommunications. By the end of the day, 3 sheds were completed.
Thanks to all who participated in the build and thanks to Habitat for Humanity for the opportunity for CAST and CCIM to be involved in the project.
