Welcome to Ball State's Cardinal Career Link.  This state-of the-art, Web-based career-management and job-search tool will help you coordinate all of your activities with the Career Center and keep you informed of campus career-planning and job-search programs. The system is password protected to ensure that employment opportunities for Ball State candidates are accessed only by BSU students and alumni.  If you have difficulty with your first-time user registration, contact the Career Center.

Cardinal Career Link allows you to

  • Search for all types of off-campus jobs, including part-time, full-time, internship, fellowship, and seasonal employment;
  • Apply for jobs and send your résumé and other job-search documents to employers online;
  • Track your job-search activities, including job listings you've applied to;
  • Receive notification of new job openings that fit your job-search profile;
  • Make notes on employers and job listings;
  • Schedule on-campus interviews;
  • Manage your on-campus interviewing activities;
  • Store up to 10 versions of your job-search documents, including résumés, cover letters, unofficial transcripts, and others, such as writing samples, pictures/graphics, your portfolio, etc. tailored to specific employers or job listings;
  • Print formatted copies of any of your job-search materials; and
  • Add your résumé to online résumé books.

How Do I Use Cardinal Career Link?

Go to the Cardinal Career Link login page at http://www.bsu.edu/webapps/viewjobs/Default.asp.

To register,

1. Enter your full Ball State Outlook e-mail address in all lowercase (e.g., charlie@bsu.edu) as both your username and password.  If you are a BSU graduate and the system will not accept your e-mail address, contact the Career Center at (765) 285-1522.

2. Under "Profile," complete the personal information page. Required information is marked with a red asterisk.

3. Complete information about your current or most recent degree and major under the "Academic Information" tab.

4. Under the "Privacy" Tab, indicate if you want to receive e-mail notifications from the Career Center and if you want your résumé  included in résumé books shared with employers.

To use Cardinal Career Link:

  • Log in to the system. If you have trouble logging in, contact the Career Center at (765) 285-1522.
  • The Home Page and the navigation bar at the top of each Cardinal Career Link page will help you find the tools and features you need. The navigation bar is consistent on all subsequent pages in Cardinal ViewJobs.  The Quick Links listed are the most frequently used functions and will save you time in accessing the tools you need.
  • The Home Page will list current announcements, alerts for tasks you need to complete, and a personal calendar with Career Center activities and recruiting events listed.
  • Important: Always use the '< return' link in the upper-right corner of your Cardinal Career Link page to return to the last function used. Do not use your browser's back button.
  • Click the "Logout" link at the top of the page when you're ready to end your session.  You will be returned to the Career Center home page. Return to Cardinal Career Link Login Page
