Indianapolis By Design 1: Place Matters

The first conference of Indianapolis By Design was held October 17, 2003 and focused on how "place" matters.  Nearly 100 professionals and students attended this inaugural conference with keynote speakers providing a different take on how place matters.

  • Jamie Bussel with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation discussed how Place Matters to our Health.
  • Mike Pyatok of Pyatok and Associates discussed how Place Matters to our Neighborhoods.
  • Bob Gibbs of the Gibbs Planning Group discussed how Place Matters to our Town Centers.

Place Matters was a partnership between CAP:IC and the American Institute of Architects Indianapolis Chapter, Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Indiana Planning Association.
