Gateway Projects
Rotary Gateways Partnership
The
year-long design competition for a
monumental gateway in the area of I65 & West
Street resulted in the December decision to
select the Kevin Parsons & Associates Team
and their design concept. It was a difficult
choice to make since all five final
submissions were posted by strong
locally-led teams, several of which included
national and international members.
Several panels
of experts and strategic stakeholders; and
public exhibits held at City Market, Bethel
AME Church, the Madame Walker Museum, the
Center for Sports Medicine, at Rotary and
Indiana University’s Emerging Technologies
Center provided input on all aspects of the
proposals. A vote taken over the net through
this website yielded close to 400 responses
– beginning in September. It is still
receiving responses. Please continue to
register your thoughts and opinions as the
Gateway Partnership effort progresses!
