Children’s Bureau – Located in downtown
Indianapolis, the new Children’s Bureau building will be located
in close proximity to the existing infrastructure, thus making
it eligible for several sustainable site credits. Decisions on
materials used in the building construction, the heating and
cooling system, and landscape will be pursued with the goal of
reaching Silver LEED certification. Architect: Schmidt &
Associates; General Contractor: Shiel Sexton.
ISP Lab – Also located in downtown Indianapolis, this 180,000
square foot facility houses the State of Indiana Forensic and
Health Sciences Laboratories for the Indiana State Police, the
Indianapolis Department of Health and IUPUI’s Department of
Toxicology. The $45 million project included many sustainable
elements, including a low-impact building site, east-west
building alignment and daylight harvesting. Architect: Ratio
Architects; General Contractor: F.A. Wilhelm.
