Environmentally based issues, such as resource depletion and climate change, have quickly become the focus in relation to the health of the global economy and to the earth’s overall sustainability. Within the many dimensions and complexities of these issues, the impact of buildings and the built environment is known to be significant. High-performance “green” buildings have been shown to provide significant environmental and economic benefits while also contributing to the improved health and welfare of communities.

In Indiana, the green building movement is just beginning to take shape
and gain momentum. Therefore, continuing upon the success of last year’s inaugural symposium, the Indiana Building Green Symposium will emphasize green building economics, technology, and operational strategies that enable designers, builders, and owners to build green and maximize both financial and environmental performance, contributing to an improved bottom-line as well as an improved quality of life. The program will include educational workshops and informative sessions intended to benefit a diverse audience including building-related professionals, corporate leaders, real estate developers, local & state policymakers, educators and students.
