Edwin Gibson was State Architect for Indiana in the 1960s. He formed Ed Gibson & Associates upon leaving that office (in the late 1960s?). The Gibson firm designed quite a bit of public housing and housing for the elderly, including "turnkey" projects. Much of their work was for the public sector. Gibson was consultant for the west wing expansion at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and (in April 1987) is closing his own firm to work for the Facilities Department, Methodist Hospital.
Gibson is the first African-American architect to be registered by examination in Indiana.
