Additional Information
On Tuesday January 20, at noon in the Multipurpose Room of CAP, Elizabeth Louden, Associate Professor of Architecture at Texas Tech will present a PowerPoint lecture on the historic documentation of the Statue of Liberty using laser scanning technology (1999-present). The technology links laser scanning point clouds (see attached files) to CAD software enabling precise measurement that the National Park Service needs (for its Historic American Building Survey Collection and, in this case, its preemptive attempt to insure the possibility of replicating nationally important structures and sites that may be faced with natural and/or man-made threats of all kinds).
