Giuseppe Morganti is the Director of the Roman Forum, Archaeological Superintendence of Rome. He has a degree in Architecture from University La Sapienza, Rome, and is the author of many publications on archaeology and history, including his favorite topic of the Farnese Gardens on the Palatine. He has recently directed preservation projects in the Forum, such as the Basilica of Maxentius and the church of Santa Maria Antiqua.
Mr. Morganti will lecture regarding the reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan following the fall of the Taliban regime. The survey, excavation and restoration efforts in Ghazni, Kabul and Kharawar will be discussed, including:
- Reopening of the Museum of Islamic Art in Ghazni
- Museum of Pre-Islamic Art in Rauza
- Tapa Sardar excavations
- Minaret of Jam and Kharwar
