About CAP: Building Careers

Building Careers

For college students, finding a good job after graduation is a critical concern. Becoming leaders in their professions is the dream. Ball State University's College of Architecture and Planning helps aspiring architects, landscape architects, urban planners, and historic preservationists achieve both.

Nationally accredited degree programs, a world-class faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities prepare students for traditional and alternative careers in the public and private sectors. Required and elective courses balance practical and theoretical knowledge, and they teach innovative design that synthesizes art and science.

A CAP education paves the way for a lifetime of challenge and success, building skills for professional work and nurturing a contemporary world view of society and culture.

Undergraduate and graduate programs are the foundation:

  • The First-Year Program introduces admitted undergraduate students to all the disciplines in the college before they choose a major.

  • Master's degrees in architecture, landscape architecture, urban and regional planning, and historic preservation provide further enrichment for lifelong careers.

Educational opportunities are the framework:

  • Studio classes in all CAP disciplines
  • Hands-on projects for actual clients and communities
  • Internships and student professional organizations
  • Lectures, exhibits, and teleconferences by noted professionals
  • International field studies and national/regional field trips
