Eligibility
To be considered for admission to this workshop, applicants must have completed their junior year or currently coming out of their sophomore year of high school. They must generally be ranked in the top 20 percent of their high school class and have a grade point average of 3.0 (B) or better on a 4.0 scale, or they must have a combined PSAT score of 1100 and a GPA of 3.0 (B) or better on a 4.0 scale.
Note: Students who do not meet the above criteria may be asked to submit other supporting material such as a portfolio and a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher.
Workshop Fee
Total cost for the 2008 workshop is $1050. Included in the workshop fee is:
- all meals and snacks
- all housing costs including linens
- all materials that will be used during the workshop
- all transportation and entrance fees during the workshop
- all costs associated with educational instruction
- and all digital documentation costs and instructional assistance.
All dining services are available on campus and a meal plan is included in he cost of the workshop. The meal plan works on a debt basis with a starting balance that covers all meal needs for the typical student. If a students desires more than is provided for on the plan, the dining service is equipped to accept cash and credit cards. This workshop fee does not cover travel to and from Ball State or additional personal expenses. Transportation from Indianapolis International Airport can be arranged for an additional cost.
Students in financial need may submit a letter requesting a fee reduction. Fee reduction may be granted based on demonstrated need and contingent upon available funds.
Application Process
To apply for admission to the CAP Summer Workshop, download and submit by mail or email the Ball State Summer Workshop application form and complete the remaining application items (see below).
- An official copy of the student's high school transcript
- A non-refundable deposit check for $75, payable to Ball State University
- A current photo (passport size)
This workshop will fill up quickly, so please sign up early!
