Hello, I'm Julie Maugherman with the Burris COUNSELING CENTER ANNOUNCEMENTS for the week of November 18th.
We have no upcoming college visits scheduled, but remember to keep checking for updates to the college visit signs.
High school students will soon be receiving copies of their spring 2010 schedules. Please check to make sure your schedules are correct and complete. All students should have at least 6 classes on their schedules. To make additions or changes, please do so by Wednesday, December 9 at 3:00. Don't forget all change requests must be in writing and have a parent's signature to show approval.
Independent Study and Internship proposal forms for spring semester are due in the Counseling Center by Friday, December 4.
Students wanting to take a BSU class for dual credit for spring semester may submit their pink BSU course requests now. As soon as we can process your requests, you may go over to BSU and sign up for the class. Students wishing to audit second semester BSU classes may also complete their pink BSU course request forms, but you cannot sign up for the class at Ball State until the week we get back from winter break. All pink BSU course requests for spring semester should be submitted to me in the Counseling Center by Friday, December 4.
If you are a senior who is applying to the University of Toledo, you may be eligible for their Presidential Scholarship, which includes full tuition for four years plus additional funds. You must have a GPA of at least 3.8 to be eligible. Visit www.utoledo.edu/admission/presidential to learn more.
The answer to last week’s Question of the Week was C. We had an overwhelming turnout of respondents, which was great! Since more than five students gave the correct answer, we drew our winners' names randomly. This week's winners are: Abby Ludwick, Annie Karner, Calvin Heintzelman, Bekah Mottweiler, and Dmitri Bohanon. Congratulations! Don’t forget to come by the Counseling Center for a treat.
This week’s question is a verbal question:
Because he saw no ___ to the task assigned him, he worked at it in a very ___ way.
A) function…systematic
B) method…dutiful
C) purpose…diligent
D) end…rigid
E) point…perfunctory
Please come to the Counseling Center with your answer to the Question of the Week and any questions about these announcements. Thank you for listening and have a wonderful week!
