What is BSU Caller ID?
BSU Caller ID is a service that will permit you to see who is calling prior to answering the telephone.

How do I get BSU Caller ID?
If you live in residence halls or University Apartments, you may sign-up for BSU caller ID service by clicking here. Your telephone line will be enabled for BSU Caller ID service within 3 business days.

What do I need to make BSU Caller ID work?
BSU  Caller  ID service requires the use of a Caller ID display phone or a Caller ID display unit. These devices are available for purchase at many department and electronics stores.

How do I install my Caller ID display unit?
If your Caller ID display is built into the telephone, simply connect the telephone to the telephone jack outlet on the wall. For proper operation of your external Caller ID display unit, you must first disconnect your telephone from the telephone jack outlet. Then, connect your telephone to the Caller ID display unit. To complete installation, follow the instructions in your Caller ID display unit manual.

What happens after BSU Caller ID is connected?
Once BSU Caller  ID service is active and your Caller ID device is installed, the Caller ID device will display caller information for each incoming call to your telephone.

What display information will I see?
The information will depend on the information available. Any of the following may be displayed: name only, name and number, "unknown", "out of area", "cellular", "private", or no information.

Does BSU Caller ID interact with call waiting?
No, BSU  Caller  ID service will not provide the name of a second incoming call.
