What is BSU Prepaid LD?
BSU Prepaid Long Distance offers Ball State students living in residence halls and university apartments easy access to long distance. You only pay 8 cents a minute for all calls made to locations within the United States and Canada.  Low international rates are also available. There are also no hidden connection charges, surcharges, or higher rates for intrastate calls like you may have with other prepaid long distance offers.

How to make a call
This service can be used from any phone on campus.  To call within the United States, dial 9 + 1 + Area Code + Number. For International calls, dial 9 + 011 + Country Code + City Code + Number.  After the stuttered dial tone, enter your 6 digit PBN (personal billing number).

Directory Assistance
Directory assistance is available through the telephone system at Ball State University to students with a BSU Prepaid Long Distance Personal Billing Number (PBN).  Directory assistance costs $0.95 per call.

To reach directory assistance from a campus phone, Dial 9 + 1411.  After entering a valid 6 digit PBN, follow the automated prompts.

You will need to make sure to have a paper and pen handy.  Your call will not be automatically connected to the number.
