David Cox

Ball State alumnus David Cox is a distinguished figure in the study of urban governance structures and their effects on public policy. He served as Director of the Office of University Partnerships for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 1998-99.

His positions at the University of Memphis have included Director of the Division of Public Administration, Director of the Center for Urban Research and Extension, and Director of the Institute for Governmental Studies and Research.

Among Cox's numerous honors are the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Rights Award, the National Outstanding Community Commitment Award, and the Certificate for Superior Accomplishment from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
