With GPS units in hand, Nathan Pugh and other Ball State geography students are literally going into the field to help local farmers and county officials pinpoint the location of drainage tiles.

Working with Paul Shanayda, Ball State's geographic information system (GIS) coordinator, and the Delaware County Soil and Water Conservation District, the students are providing farmers like Dave Gowin with a useful, seamless map of the county.
