Building Better Communities
Why is Ball State interested in helping communities with economic and quality of life development? Is this part of the university’s mission?
Public universities provide tremendous benefit to the states that support them through the production of intellectual capital. But comprehensive state-assisted universities have an obligation to be engaged in the future development of the state beyond providing instruction. Ball State's institutional commitment to engagement is articulated in goal six of our strategic plan.

Building Better Communities seeks to match the research and intellectual expertise of our faculty, staff, and students with the needs of communities around the state.
