Groups are encouraged to visit the Ball State University Museum of Art for guided or self-guided tours. There is NO CHARGE for admission and tours. Group visits can be scheduled Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Ball State University professors and instructors may request guided & self-guided tours for their classes during times that the museum is normally closed for a charge of $30 per hour.
To schedule a group or class visit, please contact the museum at least three weeks in advance of the desired visit date.
Guided Tours
Guided tours of the museum provide viewer-centered discussions that hone descriptive and analytical skills and spark lively conversation. Tours can be designed to fit your group's specific needs and interests or to relate to current classroom topics. Museum staff and trained guides from the campus and community conduct tours. Schedule a guided tour for your class and receive a FREE POSTER for your classroom and each student when you visit.
Self-Guided Visits
If you would like to bring a group to the Ball State University Museum of Art but do not need a guided tour, please contact the museum at least two weeks prior to your visit to ensure space is available.
Collection Viewing
Occasionally parts of the collection not currently on exhibition may be shown. Up to 30 items may be requested for ever 50-75 minute class group session. To facilitate the presentation/preparation, please use the Search the Collection function to provide a list of items by title, artists, and accession number and include it in the "Special Instructions" section of the group visit form.
