From the expressionists' focus on emotion, to the Cubists' concentration on the structure of reality, to the second-generation abstract expressionists and later neoexpressionists, the Ball State University Museum of Art's collection includes painting and sculpture representing important movements in 20th-century art.
The collection includes works by Alexander Calder, Anthony Caro, Grace Hartigan, Henry Moore, and Mimmo Paladino. These are exhibited in the museum's upper-level galleries.
