His research on nanotechnology, wearable computers and other innovative design technologies has been published by Princeton Architectural Press, the International Journal of Architectural Computing, the American Institute of Architects, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Dr. Elvin received his PhD in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley in 1998, and owned a design-build firm in Washington DC for twelve years prior to that. In 2005 he held a Visiting Research Fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities at the University of Edinburgh working on his current study entitled, Small Plans: Nanotechnology, Architecture, and the Future of the Built Environment. Dr. Elvin is president of Nanosearch, a nanotechnology research and advisory firm, and author of nanotechbuzz.com, a leading nanotechnology weblog. |
