The Department of Architecture invites candidates to apply for the position of Director of the department's program in Historic Preservation. Founded in 1979, the MSHP program offers a broad graduate education in historic preservation to students from many different disciplinary backgrounds. Responsibilities: work with the department chair and the faculty to administer the graduate program in historic preservation; advise students enrolled in the MSHP program and the minor in historic preservation; teach in and conduct scholarly investigations in areas related to architecture and/or historic preservation; and help integrate preservation into other degree programs in the College/Department (architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning). The position is either tenure-track or tenured, at the rank of assistant or associate professor, and available July 1, 2008.
Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in architecture, historic preservation or allied field;qualifications to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels; record of scholarly and/or professional/creative work in preservation/conservation related area. Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in architecture or allied field; advanced degree(s) or certificates; teaching experience and/or significant professional experience in areas related to preservation and conservation; administrative or advising experience at the college/university level.

In addition to the Master of Science in Historic Preservation the Department of Architecture offers a Bachelor of Science in environmental design; a Bachelor of Science or Arts in architecture (85 hours); a professional NAAB accredited Master of Architecture, and a post-professional Master of Architecture.
