Historic Preservation Program Director Opening
The Department of Architecture invites candidates to apply for the position of Director of the department's program in Historic Preservation.  Founded in 1979, the MSHP program offers a broad graduate education in historic preservation to students from many different disciplinary backgrounds.  Responsibilities:  work with the department chair and the faculty to administer the graduate program in historic preservation; advise students enrolled in the MSHP program and the minor in historic preservation; teach in and conduct scholarly investigations in areas related to architecture and/or historic preservation; and help integrate preservation into other degree programs in the College/Department (architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning).  The position is either tenure-track or tenured, at the rank of assistant or associate professor, and available July 1, 2008.
 
Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in architecture, historic preservation or allied field;qualifications to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels; record of scholarly and/or professional/creative work in preservation/conservation related area.

Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in architecture or allied field; advanced degree(s) or certificates; teaching experience and/or significant professional experience in areas related to preservation and conservation; administrative or advising experience at the college/university level.

In addition to the Master of Science in Historic Preservation the Department of Architecture offers a Bachelor of Science in environmental design; a Bachelor of Science or Arts in architecture (85 hours); a professional NAAB accredited Master of Architecture, and a post-professional Master of Architecture.
