BSU Department of Anthropology Welcomes New Faculty Members
Two new faculty members have joined the BSU Department of Anthropology beginning fall semester 2009.  Dr. Mark A. Hill is an assistant professor and the new Director of the Archaeological Resources Management Service.  Dr. Hill obtained his Ph.D. degree from Washington State University in 2009 and his main research areas include exchange systems, social networks, gift economies, and the development of regional systems of interaction among hunter-gatherers and early horticulturalists of the upper Midwest, Great Lakes, and northern Great Plains.  He is also interested in lithic analysis, archaeological chemistry, and heritage resource management.  Dr. Xianghong Feng is an assistant professor and received her doctoral degree from Washington State University in 2008.  Dr. Feng's primary research interests are development and sustainability, social power and cultural scale.  She is also interested in modernization and indigenous rights in China, particularly among the Hmong.
