CAPAsia, a rigorous 10-week field study in South Asia offered by the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP), is a global project that's connected to local community development. During the most recent tour, students and faculty were scheduled to visit northern India, but they altered their plans following the massive tsunami in the area. The group spent a week working to rebuild a tiny fishing village in Kalametiya, Sri Lanka. "Working alongside residents to rebuild their homes was a great experience," says Lindsay Bacurin, a senior in landscape architecture. "We couldn't speak their language, but we still got to know them."
