Attendees - Celebrate the Legacy 2007

Celebrate the Legacy—Our 10th Black Alumni Reunion!

It was 1988 when more than 100 of Ball State's Black Alumni and guests gathered in Muncie for their first official reunion. Now, nearly 20 years later, these alumni and two generations of alumni since then, will meet at the Ball State University Alumni Center to Celebrate the Legacy!

A weekend of connection, tradition, reminiscing, meeting new friends, relaxing, dining and dancing is planned. Learn about changes on campus from recent graduates, see the new buildings and stadium renovation, shop from vendors, and most of all, have fun. We hope you will make plans now to join us for the celebration!

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2007, we will have smooth music, hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar reception at the Alumni Center. Alumnus photographer Michael White, '79, will be taking pictures throughout the weekend for a commemorative photo DVD which will be available for $7 each. One dollar from the purchase will go to a scholarship fund for Black students who enroll at Ball State.

Saturday will begin with golf at The Players Club at 6:30 a.m. An interactive panel discussion will take place at the Alumni Center from 10 a.m. until noon. Several vendors and business owners will display their art, jewelry, skin care products, and an array of other services from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

new session, Career Development, geared to those who wish to enhance their job search, match their skill sets with their interests, launch a new career, or mentor those who are in search of a position will take place from 1 – 3 p.m.

The traditional Saturday Awards Dinner will include Outstanding Black Alumni Award recipients as well as new recognition for seven graduates from the past 20 years who are excelling in their careers. Music will be provided by DJ Thomas Griffin from Indianapolis. Black and white attire is requested for this dinner and dance.

A farewell brunch will close events on Sunday morning at the Alumni Center.
