Each Bed Race team will consist of five people – four will push the bed, and one will ride on it.  Teams will compete against the clock, two teams at a time, on a 100-yard course.  There will be seven divisions:  Fraternity, Sorority, Independent Male, Independent Female, Residence Halls Male, Residence Halls Female, and Overall Best Costume.  Plaques will be awarded to the first place teams in each division.  An award will also be given to the team with the best costume.  A trophy will be awarded for the overall winner.

Beds will be provided.  Just pick a costume and a team name!  Entry fee is $25 for the first team entered and $20 for each additional team.  Make check(s) payable to:  Homecoming Steering Committee.

Bed Race Rules:

• A five-second penalty will be charged to a team's time if its bed goes out of the boundaries designated for the race
• Each team will be paired with another team to compete in the heats.  The division will alternate turns. (Competition will be against the clock)
• The two teams with the fastest times in each division will advance to the final competition and race again.
• All members of the teams must remain in contact with the bed until the team and the bed passes the finish line completely.  The bed must be brought to a complete stop after passing the line
